In case you cannot read it:
Hi Cecilia,
We still need to pose for a family portrait - and I am workign on my list of things-to-know whil you are here! But here is your letter:
I am blessed to live with a truly lovely family - Todd, my terrifc partner of 10 years, and a pretty amazing son, Dylan. We have two cats, but have always felt that something was missing in our home. I had lived with dogs most of my life, but had not been able to have one for a while, and the fact that we live in an apartment with cats, and both my partner and my son had never really had a dog to take care of, made having a dog a bit of a challenge...we had to find a perfect match for our family. I had to find a way to make it work.
Suddenly, an e-mail came through at my work with the sweetest looking pup that had been rescued by Cecilia Rivas. Instantly, I called Todd and forwarded him the e-mail - he said, "make the call!" as he knew I had been searching...I was lucky to be one of Cecilia's first calls for potentially adopting little Malu, who had been discovered by Cecilia in a shop as she was about to be returned to the alley where she had been found. Without a second thought, Cecilia took Malu home, pampered her, trained her, loved her and made her feel special. We drove two hours to meet her, knowing that it was only a formality! And when we arrived, all of the pictures and videos that Cecilia had sent so paled in comparison to this amazing, sweet, loving, happy dog - we instantly feel in love!
Cecilia is so responsible, and she was very concerned about the fact that more dogs need to be fixed, trained, loved, and protected. So we could not officially adopt Malu until six weeks later when she had been fixed and had all of her shots. Every day, we kept pictures of her up, and watched the same videos over and over, waiting the day when we could finally have this sweet dog in our home. When the day finally arrived, and Cecilia and Phillip arrived with our new addition to our family, it was one of the happiest days of our lives! We reimbursed Cecilia for her expenses, which she worked hard to keep very affordable, visited for a while, and started our new lives with Malu - who is now Betty Lou! I know it was difficult for Cecilia to part with her, and our hearts ached for her. She is such a caring, unselfish person - I am so moved by her dedication to rescuing lost pups.
She is so perfect - every day we are grateful to Cecilia for bringing her to our family! She is gentle, sweet, well-trained, great with the cats (which is amazing) and she makes every single day of our lives so special and wonderful! We love to take her on long walks and to the dog park, she snuggles all of us at night, and hangs out with me while I work. I will never go again without a dog in my life. And I promise Cecilia that we will make sure that every day of Betty Lou's long life is happy and healthy and just full of Love! We can never thank Cecilia enough as Betty Lou is our miracle - she has made all of our lives wonderful and happy,
Thank you Cecilia! You have a great heart,
Sincerely,
Elaina, Todd, Dylan
Betty Lou, Sydney and Oscar
